Home remodeling projects are soaring and are expected to reach new highs in 2016. This prediction for the home improvement industry comes from the Remodeling Futures Program at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University , a group that analyzes homeowner remodeling activity and spending.

Boost Your Home’s Resale Value

What does this mean to you, the homeowner? Well, if you’ve been holding back on updating your kitchen, bathroom, or making any structural improvements that would add appeal as well as resale value to your home, now’s the time to search out a quality custom homebuilder to help get those dream projects underway.

Chris Herbert, the managing director of the Joint Center says, “2016 is looking to be a stronger year for home renovation activity compared to 2015 thanks to the continued recovery in the owner-occupied housing market…rising house prices are bringing more homes to the market and increasing sales, which is a large driver of home improvement activity.”

The most popular renovation projects people are investing in are kitchen and bathroom remodels and room additions. All add value to a home and a good return for the investment.

Hire for Quality Results

The outlook is encouraging for the housing market and for homeowners. So if you’re thinking about remodeling, take action now.

The upswing in renovation projects means greater demand for remodelers to get those projects done. To find a good one, ask your local realtor for recommendations. Or look into the National Association of Home Builders . But be discerning in your choice. A renovation is a major investment, and quality craftsmanship is key, whether you plan to sell your home in the future or stay put for years to come.
