What are the main steps in building a house? How do you prepare the land for pouring the foundation of the new home and when is it the best time to do it?

These are questions we get very often from our clients, so we thought we show you how our team handles a home building project in New Jersey.

1100 Tice Place is just the right example to use for this. Building a home from scratch is what we do, and we make sure we do it in the most professional way possible. This is our custom procedure, no matter the size or the demands of the project.

The homebuilding process for 1100 Tice Place – Basics and Applications

Leveling the site

This first video shows where everything starts from. Our engineers make sure that the grid is stacked up and the soil is solid enough to accept the crush stone, because this will represent the footing for the superior wallstone. Should soil compaction be considered such a problem in this case? This answer is a definite yes! Soil compaction represents the basis for many of the problems faced by landscape contractors and managers.

One of the things that we take very seriously is the home foundation. Understanding how the process works determines what happens throughout every key stage of the building operation. After all, if the basics aren’t there, there will be no room for any adjustment later on. And in order to build a proper foundation, we need to pave the way for it first.

Building a foundation template

It’s starting to look better now. Thanks to our specialized engineers, you can clearly see the superior wall foundation system shaped throughout the house layout. All the heights are marked out and everything is set into place, awaiting the arrival of the foundation material. Site preparation and foundation work are vital for the successful outcome of any house project.

In this part of the process, the crane has been systematically put together approximately two thirds of the foundation. Our Gialluisi Custom Homes team handles every step of the operation with maximum professionalism and care.

After the footing is dug, formed and poured, the area between them is leveled and fitted with utility runs such as plumbing drains and electrical chases.

This video presents the layout of the superior wall foundation layout, right after completion. The first flooring framing has already started and everything is set into place for the next phase of the project.

Framing – A continuous process

You can see the framing of the house project continues throughout the property. Furthermore, our Gialluisi Custom Homes team has made sure that everything related to production has been met in spite of bad weather.

After all the concrete is poured into the holes and trenches, the Gialluisi team applies a waterproofing membrane to the foundation walls, goes on to install the drains, sewer and water taps and any plumbing that needs to go into the first-floor slab or basement floor.

Next step? Sheathing.
