Make sure you are buying a lot that fits the specs of your dream home. This means it should be big enough to accommodate your home plan and provide sufficient space for a nice driveway.

Keep in mind that one of the perks of living in a house (as opposed to a condo) is that you can enjoy a spacious backyard and have plenty of room for summer BBQ parties.
